April 2026 Update

WDYG - US 1st Anniversary

What Do You Got - US is turning a year old this month, and we have grown so much in such a short period of time. We have learned so much, and are so excited to see where we'll be able to go as we continue to expand. We want to thank everyone who has vested their interest in our organization, including our amazing volunteers.

On April 24th, 2025, our founder, Anne Engell-Campbell woke up with an idea; to build a community of trade and barter based on the principles of her grandparents' experiences during the Great Depression, in an effort to help the communities of today. Fast forward two months later, we had the basis of a foundation and a solid crew of individuals working together to put together a non-profit that would turn that idea into a reality. And by December, our application to become an officially recognized 501(c)(3) had been approved.

While we never expected to get to where we are so quickly, we made sure to hit the ground running, launching our first initiative in February 2026 with Dignified Angels; a program designed around the trade of items to reduce the financial strain on lower-income households. We opened applications in March with profound success, and we've developed plans to expand greatly going forward for the next year.

Speaking of this coming year, we've taken the many lessons we've learned over the past 12 months and put them forward to set new goals for the coming ones. Our largest goal is to secure funding to sustain our organization, both to support our programs' financial needs but also support our amazing group of executives and volunteers. We intend to expand, and collaborate with various partners to spread our message and practices, as well as launch new initiatives to further help our surrounding communities.

As we celebrate our first anniversary, we want to express just how grateful we are to everyone in our circle, not just our staff and volunteers but our community at large and the partners we've worked with to help us grow into what we are. And we are also grateful for the community we will build as we continue on our mission to treat everyone with the dignity and respect they deserve.
